About Us

Maine Biotechnology Services, Inc., (MBS)is a privately held company founded in 1990 and headquartered in Portland, Maine, USA. Since its inception, MBS has focused its business on the development of hybridoma cell lines, which secrete highly specific monoclonal antibodies (MAbs); production, purification and processing of MAbs and polyclonal antibodies (PAbs); and immunoassay development. MBS also owns and licenses hundreds of hybridoma cell lines and antigen targets allowing us to provide “ready-made” MAbs and PAbs to the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Our MAbs and PAbs are used in a variety of applications including diagnostic test kits, internal quality control testing, purification of biological reagents and research and development.

After much study, MBS decided that Thailand would be an excellent choice for the location of its first satellite facility. MBS sought and obtained approvals from the US Department of Commerce, The Thailand Ministry of Commerce and the Board of Investment of Thailand (BOI) in order to be located at the Thailand Science Park. The Science Park is situated on the campus of Thammasat University in Pathumthani, Thailand, a suburb of Bangkok. From this location, MBS, through its newly formed subsidiary, MBSAsia, Ltd., can best serve the needs of its Asian customer base with affordable services and products. Likewise, MBSAsia will seek out strategic relationships with other biotechnology companies and research institutes for collaborations and technology transfer opportunities.

MBSAsia has incorporated the mission statement of its parent company. Therefore, it is the mission of MBSAsia to provide the highest quality products and services to the biopharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. The core focus of this mission is the development and production of monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies that meet the exact needs of the customer. This mission is met by proactive communication with the customer to assure that their expectations are completely understood and competently achieved in a timely and cost-effective manner.
